READING AND RIGHT TESTING SERVICES
2024 Testing Information
State testing is required in Oregon for grades 3, 5, 8 and 10 by a qualified tester. Test deadline for end of year testing is August 15. Washington State requires testing each year.
Ready and Right uses the Terra Nova Third Edition Survey for grades 1 through 12. The Terra Nova Third Edition is not a Common Core Test. The tests are multiple choice with three main required sections: Reading/Language Arts and Math. Grades 1 to 3 should plan for 2 hours. Grades 4 to 12 should allow 2.5 hours. A calculator is permitted (though not required) for Grades 3 to 12.
Students will be provided with a test booklet and a small ruler for the math portion of the test. Grades 1 to 3 write in their test booklets. Grades 4 to 12 are provided a separate answer sheet. Students should come to their test with pencils and a calculator (allowed but not required for grades 3 to 12). A break is provided and students are welcome to bring a snack and drink of their choice.
Test results are normally sent through email. There have been some issues with families not getting their results in a timely manner because of those documents going to junk/spam. I apologize for these unnecessary and inconvenient delays and will do everything possible to correct this. Results sent by regular mail are always an option.
