2026 Testing Information

State testing is required in Oregon for grades 3, 5, 8, and 10 by a qualified tester. Test deadline for end-of-year testing is August 15. Washington State requires testing each year.

We will be using the Terra Nova Third Edition Survey. The Terra Nova Third Edition is not a Common Core Test. The tests are multiple choice with three main required sections: Reading/Language Arts and Math - 3rd graders should plan for 2 hours. Grades 5, 8, and 10 should allow 2.5 hours. A calculator is permitted. The test proctors do not recommend calculators. However, they will leave that decision to parents. Third graders will be testing in a separate room from the older kids.

Students will be provided with a test booklet and a small ruler for the math portion of the test. Grades 3 write in their test booklets. Grades 5, 8, and 10 are provided a separate answer sheet. Students should come to their test with 2 pencils, water, and a book (to read if they finish a section early). A break is provided and students are welcome to bring a snack.

Test results are sent through email - check your spam.
